Free Monthly Family & Loved Ones Telehealth OCD Support Group
Supporting someone with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can feel overwhelming, and it isn’t always easy to know how to help without unintentionally reinforcing the disorder. Our free monthly online support group provides practical education, encouragement, and a welcoming community for parents, partners, family members, friends, caregivers, and professionals supporting someone with OCD. Whether your loved one is in treatment, considering treatment, or not yet ready to seek help, you’ll gain practical tools and connect with others who understand.
Who Can Attend?
This free online support group is open to anyone in the United States, including:
- Parents and caregivers
- Spouses and partners
- Siblings
- Adult children
- Extended family members
- Friends and loved ones
- Educators and professionals
What to Expect?
Each month covers practical topics to help families better understand OCD and support recovery, including:
- Understanding OCD and family accommodation
- Supporting Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
- Setting healthy boundaries and improving communication
- Encouraging treatment
- Managing caregiver stress
- Relapse prevention and long-term recovery
Meetings include educational presentations, group discussion, live questions and answers, and guest speakers throughout the year, including leading OCD clinicians, researchers, authors, and educators.
Meet Your Hosts
Chris Trondsen, LMFT is a licensed therapist at The Gateway Institute who specializes in treating OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Chris also brings lived experience with OCD.
Liz Trondsen offers the family perspective, sharing her firsthand experience supporting a loved one through OCD recovery. Together, Chris and Liz provide practical guidance, education, and hope.
